The latest title from the Halo franchise, Halo 3:ODST, has continued to the popularity seen with previous Halo games. Even despite the current economic climate, Microsoft have announced sales figures in excess of 2.5 million in just the first two weeks after release. The Halo: Reach beta that comes part of the package may just have been the icing on the cake with gamers seemingly happy with their new purchase.

After being accused of violating a patent, the huge software giant was once again in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. A US District Court gave them more cause for concern when it ruled that Microsoft had in fact infringed the patent and so told it to stop selling the software the next month.
