First Fermi Cards to be GTX 480 and GTX 470

The first Fermi cards to be released are now set to be named the GeForce GTX 480 and the GeForce GTX 470. Naturally, the 480 (being the bigger number) is the beefier GPU and is therefore more expensive. It is now also known that the 300 series branding is reserved for Nvidia’s new DirectX 10.1 chips hence the 480 and 470 instead.

AMD announces HD 5570

The sub £50 DirectX 11 sector was filled recently with the launch of AMD’s passively cooled HD 5450 aimed at HTPC and small case users. Just days after, AMD have detailed yet another card, the HD 5570 which should fill in between the HD 5450 and HD 5670 cards.
