The new Radeon 5 series of graphics cards set to support Windows 7 D11 graphics and supposedly AMD’s ace up their sleeve has lost its secrecy in the pricing department with the price tag now all over the web.
The Inquirer have uncovered that the top of the range card, a single PCB 5870×2 will cost a massive £599 with just a single 5870 a little more reasonable at £399. Supposedly, the cheapest card is still at around the $299 mark so the 5 Series isn’t exactly a budget range now is it?
The pricing hasn’t yet been discovered for the UK but the numbers are expected to be just as high. With the cards allegedly ready for release on the 10th September ready for the official Windows 7 release in October, the actual figures shouldn’t be too far around the corner.
Nvidia are yet to unveil any cards to counter the Radeon 5 series but we wait to see what they can deliver…
