The “rock and roll” San Francisco event brought about the release of Apple’s new iPod models as well as a load of software updates with a new iTunes, version 9.0.0.17, which aims to fine-tune syncing with iPods. Steve Jobs also made an appearance although he did appear a little frail.
The predictions of cameras, compasses and GPS’ being added to the iPod range was a wrong unfortunately with Apple focusing more on gaming. Apple announced that its new iPod Touch lineup would consist of 8GB, 32GB and 64GB models priced at $199, $299 and $399 respectively.
Supposedly the idea behind this was to minimise costs and attempt to launch the iPod as a gaming platform at this moment in time.

I’ve got an iPod touch 2nd generation at the moment, can’t see myself buying a new one until they completely re-design them, rather than just adding pointless features.
…and it can play a streamed version of Crysis… from what i’ve seen.
