Q1, 2010 is set to bring about Intel’s ultra low voltage dual core platform; the current leader in terms of voltage is the SU9600 notebook but it will be replaced by the dual core i7 640UM.
Despite the high TDP at 18W compared to it’s rival’s 10W, the Arrandale (Core i7 640UM) has a IGP contained within the TDP! The Core i7 640UM is set to be released at a speed of 1.3GHz and with the turbo mode allowing overclocks all the way up to 2.26GHz, the TDP of course increases, but this mode probably won’t activate until you plug your notebook in, or set it to run at full performance.
