Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is franchise that has gained enormous popularity with its move away from the WWII theme to modern combat with this edition of the series.
Just the fact that 2007 saw this game sell in more than 7 million copies speaks volumes of its popularity, and Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling confirmed that. When he received 3 BAFTA awards in London, he said how so far 15 million users have played the game online.
As many as 11 million of these are Xbox 360 users, whereas the rest are PS users. Unfortunately, he didn’t mention PC users which surely would’ve added to the final figures.
