AMD announces HD 5570

The sub £50 DirectX 11 sector was filled recently with the launch of AMD’s passively cooled HD 5450 aimed at HTPC and small case users. Just days after, AMD have detailed yet another card, the HD 5570 which should fill in between the HD 5450 and HD 5670 cards.

The card features a 40nm process with 627M transistors and 400 stream processors. It also has 8 ROPs and 20 texture units with a 650MHz core and 900MHz DDR3 memory. The low power consumption figures achieved by many of AMD’s lower-end offerings is once again evident with a TDP of just 42.7W (idling at just 9.7W).

The low profile solution features a very small heatsink and fan combination although it wouldn’t be a surprise to see some partners bringing out passive HD 5570′s consistent with the latest HD 5450.

The launch date is expected to be the 9th February with the card priced at around the £60 mark.
