New Additions Set for Intel Low Voltage Arrandale Generation

Intel is set to release the first of its ultra low voltage Arrandale CPUs in the first quarter of 2010; the i5 520UM (a 1.06GHz clocked dual core) has similar features to the desktop processors including “Turbo Boost” which allows the 520UM to hit speeds of 1.86GHz, a 0.8GHz rise.

First Fermi Cards to be GTX 480 and GTX 470

The first Fermi cards to be released are now set to be named the GeForce GTX 480 and the GeForce GTX 470. Naturally, the 480 (being the bigger number) is the beefier GPU and is therefore more expensive. It is now also known that the 300 series branding is reserved for Nvidia’s new DirectX 10.1 chips hence the 480 and 470 instead.
AMD announces HD 5570

Evercool Release Overclocking Results on Intel’s LGA1156 Platform

Evercool, a Taiwan Thermal Corp., Ltd., has released information on the overclocking of the Core i5 750 CPU using two of their CPU coolers – the Buffalo and Transformer 4. According to the thermal solutions manufacturer, overclocks of up to 4.54GHz (using Intel’s Turbo Boost technology) were achieved although comparisons with other brands CPU coolers were unavailable.
